I had my ultrasound/sonogram today (I'm a little over 19 weeks along) - the Dr. says he's 95% sure baby is a girl. Here's the thing - everyone that has predicted has said boy - so I'm a little thrown; plus - I wasn't supposed to have my ultrasound today (they made me reschedule 3 times, but apparently the scheduling people were wrong, so my Dr. wanted to do it today, but then she got called off to do an emergency c-section) - so it was a suprise for my dh & I; my 2-yr old dd actually did fabulous in the room (we originally had planned her to with her grandma when we had the ultrasound) ...

so - how many people had wrong predictions of girl or boy on their ultrasound. There didn't appear to be any penis ... but this one just wasn't as clear as my first dd's ultrasound - kwim? So, I guess for now we're going with girl (I'm happy, don't get me wrong), but I feel confused. I can ask my dr. to do another one in 2 months I think he said (more waiting) - but I'm not sure about cost of another one. I guess we should just pick out a name for each just in case. haha

Honestly, I would trust the ultrasound tech over people's "predictions." I know ultrasounds are not 100% accurate in telling the sex of the baby, but a 95% certainty is pretty high and these guys are trained to tell these things.

In my opinion, you should always pick names for both sexes just in case, but I wouldn't get my hopes up that the ultrasound was wrong. Think of it this way - if on the off chance it was wrong and you end up with a boy - it will be a pleasant surprise!

I guess that's just it - not seeing the three lines (the hamburger) either. My dh & I are going to watch the CD/DVD they gave us to see if maybe we see it clearer on there than on the picture . . .

Congrats on your little girl!!!

I never found out for my first 6 kids.

My 7th was definitely a boy, so I don't have much experice to go by.

Both my ultrasounds showed boy and they both turned out a boy. We had girl names picked out just in case. A lady I used to work with was told she was having a girl with her first one and even had the girl's name painted on the wall of the nursery and the baby came out a boy, lol.

Everyone predicted me to have a boy except for my mom and sister. Guess waht...I have a beautiful red head little girl! You can't go by people's predictions. Or thoes online test things. According to my chineese calander, I should have had a boy.

My ultrasound tech told us we were having a girl, but most people who guessed thought I was having a boy...a few people were so certain it was a boy that I was scared the tech was wrong. people would stop me in the grocery store saying "oh, you're having a boy, right?" so i would not wash any "girl" clothes- only neutral- until she was born! But- the tech was right and everyone else (& the chinese calendar) was wrong!

Congrats! Our ultrasound tech was correct both times.

I'll edit to say that with my daughter I "knew" she was a girl. But with my son I never had a clue.

My mom thought she was having a boy right up until the moment I came out. I was supposed to be Jason Phillip. I went home in a baby boys outfit.
