I need to register for a newborn sling. I have a bijorn but, you really cannot use that until they are a little older. I have an active toddler so, I want a really good sling to take the newborn and toddler for walks or trips to the park, etc. I have heard of the peanut sling in stretch cotton, reverse weave and microfiber. I was thinking of that one but, everyone scares me about sizing, fabric type, etc. I live in ATL and wonder if the microfiber will be too hot in Sept. when I deliver. Anyway, any suggestions? I also, tried using the NOJO sling with my first and it hurt my back but, my husband used it. What do you guys think?

I really liked my hotsling (hotslings.com). My ds also really loved being in it. I highly recommend them!

Check the weight on the bijorn I'm pretty sure you can put a newborn in there on the smallest setting. My DD LIVED in there for the first 3-4 months. It was great to chase DS and have her happy and snuggled up.

I can't imagine my life without my new native carrier. It's really great from the very begining! My six month old still uses it daily! If you are scared about sizing you can either call them or look online for a store that carries them locally.

I bought a hotsling and I am not so sure about it. It worked good in the first month, but when I tried to use it yesterday, dd was so cranky that she tensed up & I couldn't get her in it. It almost seems too tight for her now too. she is over 10 pounds already and doesn't like her head to be inside the sling unless she is very sleepy, then she doesn't seem to notice.

so, when she is cooperative, it seems good enough, but when she is very fussy it doesn't even work. don't know if all slings would be like this tho- this is the only one we've tried.

Your newborn has to be at least 8lbs to use the bijorn sling. My daughter was 6lbs. when we brought her home and stayed small for awhile. I hope I have the next one a little bigger so, I can use the bijorn sooner.

I love, love, love my Hotsling.

I used it with my son in the newborn cradle position until he didn't like that anymore, and then I started carrying him in the front on it. Now, he's 13 months and I still use it, I just wear him on my hip in it. It's a very easy to use sling.
