I will not be on for awhile. When we went to the doctors today and had an ultrasound they think that the baby is almost 9 pounds! So, they want to induce me before she gets too much bigger. I guess the bigger she gets the more complications can arise. So, tomorrow morning we are going to the airport to pick up my mom who will be here for a few weeks. Then tomorrow night we will be heading to the hospital to start the procedures of being induced.

I am so nervous. I am not dilated at all! I would much rather let nature take its course, but they say each week that goes by the baby gains 1/2 pound! So, I am going to take the docs advice and get induced. I have not heard of any good stories of being induced so I am extrememly nervous!

When I get there they are going to give me something (I forget the name of it) and then put a balloon into my cervix to start making me dilate...hopefully. I can only imagine how wonderful that must feel! Then the next day they will give me pitocin to try to start my contractions. So, if I am in labor for a day she should be born on Wednesday if things go well...I will be praying! Maybe by the weekend I will be home so I will be able to let you all know how things are.

If you guys can I would love some extra prayers, (not only for the whole procedure, but) for me to be able to relax and not stress out about all of this! Thanks, everyone!!! I will miss talking to you guys! You all have a way of making me feel better when I am stressed!

Ohhh...good luck! That is very exciting. I can understand your nervousness, you can never relax until your little baby is in your arms. I will say some prayers for you and your family. I am sure you will do great! I can't wait to hear about what a beautiful baby she is!

Sending prayers your way!
I have heard mixed stories about being induced. Some say it wasn't any worst than natural. I wouldn't worry one way or another about that.
As far as the balloon deal goes, my sister had a procedure done to get "fixed" (for lack of better words) called Essure and they put a balloon in her cervix during the process for one reason or another and she said it was a little bit tender, but not too bad and her doctor said that the only reason why she was a tender was because she hadn't ever been pregnant or had a baby. So it should be ok for you.
Anyway, good luck. How exciting to know that by next weekend you will have a new little bundle in your arms!

Dont worry at all Jen. I was induced with both of my babies and it really isnt as bad as it sounds or all the stories you have heard. With my first one my water broke but labor never started so they started the Pitocin at around noon and baby came by 9:30 that night. I was also induced with my second one and it was all because of my impatience in wanting to get the baby out of there. It really wasnt bad either. I had started the dilation process but they gave me the pitocin and broke my water in the morning and by about 9:30 that evening baby was born. I wish you all the best and will look forward to hearing how it all goes!!!

I'm with Marla. I was also induced both times and everything went fine. The good thing was walking into the hospital with a smile on my face Just try to relax and stay calm. My only advice is if you're going to wait to get the drugs like I did, ask for them right before they break your water because it's going to progress very quickly from there. Don't worry! Everything's going to be fine. I can't wait to see the pictures!

Good luck Jen! Everything will go fine (but ya got my prayers too )! My first was induced (similar to Marla's first) and it went great. I agree with both of them ~ not as terrible as some make it out to be.

Can't wait to see pictures!
