What age were you when you had your child/children? Are you glad you were that age and would you have waited longer or wished you were younger?

I wanted to add that I just turned 29 and have no children yet. I am very happy with waiting. My DH and I have been married 3 years and the time is finially right! We are "planning" on trying this year.

My oldest was born 2 weeks before my 22nd birthday, #2 I was 25, #3 I was 29, #4 I was 33, #5 I was 34, #6 I was almost 36, #7 I was almost 39. I don't know that I would have done anything different if I could have. We did want my youngest to be born a year of two sooner, but it was not to be. We are awfully old parents now to my 5 yr old, but that is life.

I remember my parents being older than all the other kids parents when I was in school, and I didn't care. I just wondered why some other parents were 10 years younger than mine! Wow! I would love to wait until about 34 or 35 (maybe for the 2nd!) but don't the health risks for the baby go up significantly?

You are considered high risk after the age of 35. I was doubley high risk since I had massive pre-term labor with my last 4 kids. Yeah, we really pushed it.

I was 28 (almost 29) when my first was born. My second was born when I was 32. I was married over 6 years before becoming a parent. We waited because we wanted to have a house, some money saved up, and to have had a chance to spend time together and do a little traveling before we had kids. I wouldn't have changed anything. It was right for us and our goals/lifestyle.

I had my first 3 weeks after I turned 25. The second just over two years later at 27. This one is due in November and I'll be 30. I think everything worked out just fine. I'm not sure I would have wanted kids any younger but probably not any older either.
