I am going on 13 weeks and I just told my mom. She is the first person I told. I was scared to tell her, since she will be the one babysitting it mostly. We still haven't told the kids yet. I am about dying to tell my kids, but I wanted all three kids (DH's kid) there at the same time to make it a family announcement type thing. So either I tell my two, and dh tells his kid in a couple weeks when he picks him up, or we wait for another couple weeks to tell them altogether.

I don't want to start telling other people outside the family before I tell the kids and I want them to be excited for the new baby. Maybe if they are excited about it, it will help us more get on that track. Of course, I am starting to get excited, although where the baby will sleep, how we are going to afford everything since dh is in lala land about finances and how much a baby really does cost right now and my impending weight gain still weighs heavy on me, still when I saw the baby in the Ultrasound the other day, it was exciting.

So how long did you wait to tell people?

With this pregnancy, i told my parents at 7 weeks and then waited until i was 4 months to tell everyone else. I had 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy, so that is why i waited so long to tell.

Wow, you both are very strong. I actually told everyone on here first! DH was at work and I wasn't about to call him wtih the news and I just had to tell someone. So I figured my mommysaver friends would be the perfect ones to tell!

We waited 2 weeks after we knew to tell our families. We told everyone at DD's 1st birthday party. It was really nice. I think i was 6 or 7 weeks. I can't remember.

With each pregnancy we told family and friends as soon as we tested positive. I think we were super blessed and excited that hiding it for a few weeks was completely out of the question for us. As soon as I've gotten a positive with all 3 pregnancies I've called either my sister, mom or bestfriend and told them. DH was the first to be called with DD1 and he was the first to know with DD2 as he was in the home when I tested and with baby #3 he was the first to know since he was anticipating the results but not as soon as we got them..hehe!

DD1 I was 6wks when I tested and shared the news.
DD2 I was 3wks when I tested and shared the news.
Baby #3 I was 3.5wks when I tested and shared the news.

Well we had been infertility patients who had unsuccessfully done in-vitro and the whole shebang, plus I had had a "blighted ovum" where I had a positive pregnancy test but no viable pregnancy so when we REALLY got pregnant we were scared to tell everyone. So with both of mine I waited until past the first trimester. Of course since I delivered 10# babies I was already big big by 3 months with people just thinking I was getting really fat, so there's a downside to that.

Too many times I have seen women tell everyone they were pregnant so soon after they find out only for something to happen. I didn't want to deal with that, so I waited as long as I could, close to the end of the first trimester. I did tell my dh and a few friends, but not the world.

My ds was 9-1/2 and dd was 8-1/2. This one the doc says is measuring a week bigger than what the dates say.. so I guess I am in for another big baby. I was reallllly hoping for a 5 pounder this time.

I can relate to the ones that waited due to problems before getting pregnant. The first time we waited until a little after four months. This time I just found out for sure, but I actually "knew" without testing about four weeks, I am 6 weeks now. We haven't told anyone, yet and not sure when we are going to this time. We are trying to figure when to tell the kids. One is 12 the other is 6. Nicholas the 6 yr. doesn't want a brother or sister!

I did not wait, I have had 3 m/c's too. After the first m/c I was so afraid to tell people, because no one really knows what to say to you about it. But I figured that they could at least pray for the health of the pregnancy....

but I do understand peoples fears about telling the "world"

the thing with telling the children early is that the have no concept of time and pregnancy is LONG! lol
