Yay or nay?
I personally have no problem with others doing it but myself would always find a nice quiet place to go.

If a baby has to eat, the baby's gotta eat. It doesn't bother me in the least.

I don't have a problem with it but I do think they should try to cover up and be as modest as possible. JMO

I don't have a problem with it being done in public as long as it's done discreetly. When I nursed my kids, I didn't like to do it in public but when I did, I always did so discreetly.

I'm actually more comfortable breastfeeding in public than at home when we have visitors. Guess that's along the same lines of me being fine with wearing a bathing suit at the beach around strangers, but I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a bathing suit around friends/family!
I always cover up--no free shows

I really couldn't care less, discreet or not. I have boobs, I see them everyday in the mirror. Someone else's aren't any of my business, and if they are using them as nature intended - baby food - then they can feed when and where they wish, however they wish. I'm not going to stare at them, and I won't make an issue. That's my personal take on it, and I think it's sad that our society makes it such a taboo or almost something to be "ashamed of" or something that must be hidden.
That said, I know better than to be flashing the twins around, and when I tried nursing DD, I tried to stay covered unless in the house with just me and DH around. I just think it's sad it's so "taboo".

I nurse in public, could really care less, and I have had some stares, some not so good and some of older women looking on as to remember the days when their children were younger...
dd is now a very social eater, likes to pull off and look around, so it is a bit harder, but, so what.... she needs to eat like everyone else

I was quite shy about nursing in public at first, but got over it after a few trips to Disneyland where I was too tired to walk to the baby lounge. I always covered up well.

I'm not sure what constitutes "public". I usually feed the baby in the car, but there have been a few times I've had to us the lounge at the mall, once sitting next to another mom doing the same, and then once at a park, but no one was nearby. I usually try to do it in the car, or at home, but the times I've not, baby's been hysterical and nothing's calmed him down but that.
