so this is my second period since I had dd 11 months ago.

first af was heavy, no biggie

well, now I am bleeding thru a pad about every hour, since yesterday morning. I stand up and gush, and I have had numerous clots abou 3-4 inches round....cramping too

not a m/c as my history of m/c I took a test a couple days ago

after I had dd #1 I had this too, and I went to the ER in england, they said it was abnormal and sent me home, so I called my ob here. they said I should have been checked over better, but what could be done?

so if I call my ob~ I'm sure they'll want to see me, what's going to be done?

or should I just hold off til morning and see if it slows down?

I had that happen too my first AF after ds was born. My ob said it was normal for that to happen the first couple AFs you have. Something about the body is still eliminating things from the birth, etc. So, it could be normal, but you could always call the doctor just to check. Better safe than sorry IMO.

My first couple back after breastfeeding were really heavy too, but not that heavy. It can't hurt to call your doctor just for your own peace of mind.

I also think you should call for your own peace of mind-but I think that this is fairly common. I had the same thing happen just recently.

Did not get my period back until my dd#3 was 9 months old and my first 2 periods were like 2 weeks apart and VERY heavy. My OB also said the more babies you have the worse your periods will get. Hormones play a huge part in it too. But again-it never hurts to call.

I'd call. Esp. since it's so painful. I had something similar happen when I had my first (and only since I got pregnant again) period after dd, and my sister the RN said to call the dr. At the very least, maybe they can do something for the pain?
