Are you allowed to eat spicey foods when pregnant? I mean, is it ok? I won't hurt the baby or anything will it?

It's fine. Some might give you heartburn or make you feel sick, but no it won't hurt the baby.

I think this is one of the biggest misconceptions out there. think about it this way, it spicy food was bad for a baby then half the world's women would never eat when pregnant. I was told the same thing and was told it was even more important b/c I had SEVERE heartburn. With second dd I ate lots of spicy food and never had heatburn from it. I got heartburn from cherrios. My second dd was my only child to actually like spicy food, hmmmm. she started eating salsa at about age 3. she doesnt eat it now but she did when little.

Spicy food is NOT dangerous for your baby. I asked my doc that when I was pregnant with DD b/c I was craving Taco bell with it's fire sauce ( BTW, I HATE taco bell)...she said it was fine. With this one, I have been craving spicy chicken wings!

Usually I can barely handle any spicey foods, but when I was pregnant I craved spicey for a few months. the only problem I had was heartburn.

I also think that it is fine as long as you can tolerate it! I craved spciy for all 3 and only dd#2 let me eat it without getting heartburn! And then I was sucking down jalapenos....literally. I was a hotel manager and the cooks in the kitchen would make me the hottest, spiciest dishes ever! yummy. Makes me want some now.
