I was induced with my 6th child which was my 2nd VBAC after 2 c-sections. It was only a day before my due date and I'd been laboring on and off for over a week. I needed so little pitocin to get started that later my ob/gyn remarked to the nurse that she should have just had me sniff it. The induction was scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Our son was born right around noon. So all, in all, it was a very easy, quick birth.
But knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go for an induction for a VBAC. With my last baby (#7), I tried to again, but my uterus ruptured badly and we both almost didn't make it. That was even following all the hospital requirements for staff on site for a VBAC. Pitocin can give you really, really strong contractions which increases your chances of uterine rupture if you've had a previous c-section. It's much better to go into labor on your own for a VBAC than to throw pitocin into the mix if you don't know how your body reacts to it.
