For the past 3 months, I have been on the Body Bugg program through 24 Hr Fitness. Basically, it's a calorie management program, you wear a body bugg around your upper arm and it measures how many calories you burned, and you log in your food intake to get your calories consumed. I have done really well on this program...I started at 145 lbs, 29% body fat since my MC in April, and now I'm at 127 lbs and 25% body fat (I was 133 lbs when I got pregnant last time, so I'm doing good). I want to keep up with my fitness program. Is it possible for me to still lose body fat, even though I'm going to gain a baby bump?

Second, I have been active since I was 24, I am now 30. One of the personal trainers at the gym told me I can pretty much continue to do what I have been doing...as long as I've done those activities prior to pregnancy. Example, I love to do cardio kickboxing...and one of the instructors for the class is pregnant as well. We don't take any hits, there's no sparring, we just do cardio. I also weight train, and I know I can't lift as heavy as I used to. I know I can't lift more than 20 lbs...which is fine. I can use a break. I just want to continue my diet and exercise, but I don't anything to go wrong either. I didn't exercise much during my last pregnancy and I put on so much weight for only being pregnant for 14 weeks!

I really could not do physical activity last time b/c the Dr's and nurses were telling me not to since I had that cervical polyp. The part that concerns me now is that the Dr that took care of me after my MC believes I lost the baby to a weak cervix. I should be okay during the first trimester, right? I have an appointment later on this month.

I would ask your OB/GYN before continuing your Bugg program. When pregnant, you're not supposed to be dieting of any kind...just watching what you eat. It sounds kind of like that is what you are doing, watching what you eat, so chances are you can continue and maybe have to modify it a bit.

As for exercise, check with your OB/GYN with that too especially since you mentioned you may have had a weak cervix. Most doctors say nowadays, with healthy, non-high risk pregnancies you can do whatever you were doing before you got pregnant, just may have to modify it to compensate for your growing belly. My doc was actually more concerned about me falling or loosing my balance than with the baby inside..since the baby has alot of cushioning around him/her.

I still run 5 days a week although I went from 5-6 miles a day to 2-3 miles and workout every day for 30-60 minutes and I am about 4 months along.

Check with your doctor. Good luck and congratulations!!

Yeah, I know last time, I could not eat anything heavily greasy b/c it made me nauseaus! But I sure loved me some ice-cream!

The hard part is I'm active duty Air Force, and they only give us 6 months after to get back into shape and take our PT test. It took me a good bit to get back into shape this time...I just kind of want to stay ahead of the game. I'll talk to the Dr about it and see what he says.

Since you may be having a "high risk pregnancy" this may not pertain to YOU. But my OBGYN told me to do what I was doing before, exercise would make it easier on me come delivery (especially swimming & walking). Just don't do anything that got be OVER heated!

Good Luck!!

Well, the military hospital won't make me a high risk pregnancy unless I had 3 miscarriages. The civ Dr might have a different opinion on that, which is why I'm trying to get a referral to him. I hear it's going to be hard since I'm military and that Ft Carson is probably manned to take me in. But I called the civ Dr's office today and they're going to see if they can get them to refer me.
