My sister just had a baby 1 month premature. I would like to get her a sling that she can nurse in and that will last for several years. Are there any that are appropriate for a 6 pound baby up to 20 pounds or so, and if so which brands?

I have the Hotsling, Moby Wrap and baby bjorn carrier. The 1st two you are able to nurse in (check out the websites for how-to's). My dd didn't like the newborn hold in the hotsling, but she is now 5mos & happily sits in the hip hold. I love how it is compact enough to carry in diaper bag. The Moby is by far the most comfortable and even though it looks complicated it really becomes easy after praticing a few times.

We also use the bjorn occasionally but it can be a pain in the back.

hth!

I have a hotsling too. it was pricey in Target so I looked on Ebay and found one a lot less. I love it, the baby can be place in a couple different ways and you can use it as the baby grows.

Thanks everybody!

I decided to go with the Moby Wrap, because of its versatility and the fact that her husband can use it, too (one size fits most). I will keep the others in mind in case she doesn't like the Moby Wrap.
