Does anyone have any recomendations for acid reflux? It doesn't matter what I eat, the same thing happens. I took med. for it at one time, but that was before I was pregnant. The name was protonix, I know you shouldn't breastfeed if you are taking this med, so I would assume that you sholdn't take it while pregnant. Any suggestions?

when I was prego I was up to a bottle... yes a whole bottle of tums a week so when that happened the doctor had me get Zantac 150. I was in my 3rd trimester and didn't take it while nursing. I would ask your doctor about it. Mine was so soo bad. Also eating raw almonds did help a little ( not salted just plan ones)

My doc also allowed me to take Zantac when I was pregnant...it wasn't OTC back then. If you want to take it, I would call and talk to your doc first though. It was a LIFESAVER for me. I had heartburn so bad it made me cry.

I was actually prescribed Protonix for the first time when I was pg with my son. So I KNOW its safe during pregnancy. They also have a generic out for it now.

Acid Reflux is definitely part of pg, but talk to your ob just in case. My severe acid reflux turned out to be gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed when I was 15 weeks pregnant. If you have any pain just under your ribs on the right side, it could be gallstones. Mine was misdiagnosed twice.
