has anyone ever used one of these before? what did you think about it?

i'm only 2 months along and i'm already having to use the rubberband method on my jeans, but i'm definitely not big enough to bust out my maternity pants. are they available in stores somewhere so i don't have to order one online?

eta: i did find a pattern for it on etsy for $3.80! i think i'll do that, and that way i can go pick out my own fabrics that i like.

Lived in them, loved them, SWORE by them. Initially, I wore them with my normal, skinny girl clothes, later I wore them over maternity pants that bulged or that didn't cover my belly (i liked the clothing that went over my belly) and after baby I wore them the same way. They were a little pricey (buy the genuine ones or the ones fro Motherhood) but SOOOOOOOOOO 100% worth every penny. I'm pregnant again and still using them (same ones, they hold up)! Good Luck!

Yep, i used one my whole pregnancy. I don't know what i would have done without it. I wish i would have bought more colors. I bought a white "tummy sleeve" from Motherhood. That was the only color they had at the time.
But yes, they are worth it!

Bought it, loved it, worth every penny. Mine was $20 at Motherhood. I got white and wore it to hold up maternity pants (which I never did grow into). Seriously, best invention ever. jn

thanks girls! i'm definitely investing in one (or more) for this pregnancy! especially since i'll be pregnant through the winter and another layer of close-fitting clothing couldn't hurt! (i'm always cold)

This thread got me thinking about these bands, and then when I went to the Salvation Army the other day I picked up a large elastic and velcro band in the fabric box and noticed a "Motherhood" tag on it. For 50 cents! I'm guessing it's sort of the same thing, but I'm not sure. It's a few wide strips of elastic with large patches of velcro. Is this the same thing? Same principal??

I made one and loved it. I've given them away too. It is so easy to make! You should definitely give it a go!

Okay, I've done some research and what I got is not the bella band. But can't I make a sort of casing for this elastic and use it in the same way? Anybody done anything like that?

Otherwise, where do you get the kind of knit fabric that they're made of?

My friend had one of those and showed me the other day. She hadn't used it yet (got it from her SIL) but said it was to make your stomach flat after pregnancy and possibly to hold your belly up during. It is definitely not the same thing. The Bella Band is just a tube of super stretchy silky knit stuff that holds your clothes tight to your belly.
