Hi Everyone -

My name is Kat. I'm a 42 year old wife and mother - 2 kids and one one the way in March (Yes, I am of ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE... ). I am planning on staying home after the baby is born which will be quite a challenge. I am an A-type personality, have been working since I was 13 and work in a realy high stress job in publishing. I have always wanted to be a SAHM but my ex would never let me with my first two (that would have meant he actually had to PROVIDE for his family...lol) After a nasty divorce and finding my soul mate in dh #2, I found someone who is very supportive (albeit a little aprehensive) about me coming home. I made a commitment to my girls and my new baby girl that I would no longer miss out on their lives. Conference calls and trips to NY can be flushed. I want to be there when they get home from school, to help them with homework, to actually BE THERE when the baby takes her first steps instead of hearing about it from the daycare. I know that being a SAHM is the hardest, most rewarding job ever and I just pray that I am up for the challenge. I hope I am strong enough.

Hope to get to know you soon!

Love Kat

You sound like a very wise woman. I had my first at 38 and my second at 43. Yes, I am more worn out than my peers, but so many other factors play into it. I know I appreciate my kids more now than I would have as a younger mom. I stay home, too, and live in Arizona, but originally from upstate NY. Congrats!
