Hiya all! I'm a new mom from brooklyn, NY with a cool little 5 month old. I have been looking for a good forum with folks who are of like mind for a while and I think I found it! Where I live it's very hard to find stay at home mom's or even frugal mom's!

With the fast paced, flashy, Look better then the Jones's New York attitude, sensible spending and common sense are hard to come by in this town sometimes. The majority of people I know think I'm crazy, lazy and broke for staying home to raise my little guy (I know, crazy people) so I'm looking for some good friends who get what I'm talking about so I'm glad to meet folks on this board!

Oh, any New Yorkers, drop me a post, I'd love to know how you are surviving in the Big Apple!

Hi I am new also and know just how you feel! I live in a tourist town and everyone seems to think that staying home is oldfashioned and that I could have so many more "things" if only I worked! LOL I just tell them yeah but then I would have more to clean when I got home after a long day at work! LOL Glad you joined the site and hope we can chat sometime.

It's definately all about the "things" were I live. It's very hard to break away from that. Once you do, everyone thinks your weird or poor. Hmmm, I think I'll start a thread about this!
