I am currently a working mother, but I dream about being a SAHM. However, I don't really have the support I need from my husband to quit my job and live my dream. How do I convince him. I know things will be tight for a while, I have ran the numbers. I just can't see spending another day away from my kids. I hope someone can give me some advice on this matter.

Thanks.

Welcome to Mommysavers!! You could try living off your husband's salary for a few months and put yours into savings. Also write down all your bills on paper and sit down with your husband and talk about it. There are alot of tips on saving money and being frugal. HTH

welcome Tonya, I agree with Momma2L&H, but u can take it one step further. b4 u start trying to live off one income. first decide what is wasting money and get rid of them. then when u start trying to live off one income the things u give up won't feel like to "have to give up" but will be already gone and not thought of. I would start trying some of the tips on here and start saving and then your dh will be more likely to be interested if he see's your are already cutting costs.

Thanks for the ideas. I know in my heart that it can be done, but you are right I have to prove it to him by showing him what I can save.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I can totally relate to your situation. My DH is the same. Shortly after we were married he lost his job of 15 years. Now he has a much better paying job but still worries about losing his job. He worries about money A LOT. We are almost debt free so I put it on paper for him to see that we could do it. At first he was totally against it but after living on his income since February he is coming around. We are putting my check towards our truck payment and my gasoline and the rest into savings. Also we have an emergency fund set up so if something breaks we don't have to take it out of our checking. Hope this helps and lots of luck to you, I understand exactly how you are feeling and it's not a good feeling. Let us know how things work out.

Oh, and welcome to mommysavers!
