Hi my name is Holly. I have been checking this web site out for a while and thought it was time to join! I can't believe how much information is here.

I recently resigned my position as office manager of a car dealership to be a stay at home mom to our daughter 6 and son 2. This was a hard decision for my husband and I. The end of May our daycare closed and we haven't been able to find an opening at another one. My husband farms so you can imagine the financial blow my staying at home has had. I have always wanted to stay at home but never thought it would be possible. This website has helped us clip coupons and get great ideas for just about everything! We are making it work and I don't think our kids have ever been happier!

I have been left feeling a little down and was wondering if anyone else felt this way. I love being with my kids but have found there isn't much support out there for me. We live in a small community and some people can't believe that I quit my job. They tell me I am going to hate staying at home, etc. I know I shouldn't care what others think but some are our relatives and there is no getting away from them. I left a high demanding, high stress, and yes high paying job for this and I just wish others could be happy for us. Has anyone else run into this????

It will take some time to adjust to your newfound position as SAHM, but it sounds as though you are more than ready !!!

We're here to help you get through! Hello and welcome!

Welcome to Mommysavers! I don't hate staying home at all. Yes, there are things I miss about the outside-working world, but I'm needed more here, and it's more rewarding. To copy the Army, it's the toughest job you'll ever love.

Hi Holly! Welcome!

I struggled myself when I first decided to become a SAHM full-time. I worked outside of the home for many years and then when my DH took a new job out of state...we decided for many reasons it would be best for me to stay at home.

What finally worked for me was to start my very own SAHM group. There is a website called Meet-up (Meetup: World's largest community of local Meetups, clubs and groups!) and you can start a group all on your own, or find one that may be close to you to join. It has been my life saver!

I'm sorry that your family dosn't support your choice, I know how that can be. I als live in a small community where everyone knows everyone and think that they know what you should do; and of course I also know that I love being a SAHM. I wouldn't trade it for all the money in the world. If you would like to talk more I'm willing to listen.
