Hi there, I just joined today and I am looking forward to wandering the site.
My last child is going off to school soon and I need to find things to fill my time. Are there any other Mom's out there facing the "last child leaving home"?
I love doing crafts of all kinds, gardening, shopping frugally and many other things. I am also new to the town I now live in. This makes it difficult to find new friends to help fill the empty hours and drink a lot of coffee :D
Anyone out there in the Southern Ontario area??
If you have any ideas on keeping busy and active, please by all means let me know. I am considering "work from home" but am having difficulty ruling out the scams. I dont believe in sending money to these companies to get started.
Thanks for reading and looking forward to chatting.

Hi! Welcome to the forum. Lots of great topics & people to chat to.
Re your queries for WAH - check out my sig file links ( I have some free ebooks which might help you). Were not supposed to promote business - so makes it hard especially when you've expressed an interest.

We might have to catch up on another business forum.

I don't really have anysuggestions I jsut wanted to say hi. I basically have one more left at thome who is 12 (my DSS) and then of course my precious grandson who is almost 19 months old. I don't know what I will do with myself when all the kids are finally gone. IF Treston stays with us until he graduates from high school I will be 60 UGH!!!!!! so I guess I will be going to the senior center everyday and learnign to knit and crochet as my grandmother did at that age.

Glad you ahve joined us.. these ladies on this board are wonderful and are so knowledgable about things and have great opinions and advice. Can't wait to hear more from you.

Welcome! I'm sure it's difficult finding your groove when you're used to having kids around. I'm slightly jealous - I always fantasize about what I would do if the kids didn't demand so much of my time (although they grow up too quickly anyway)!

Mommysavers has a great work at home resource page:
http://www.mommysavers.com/work-at-h...ms/index.shtml
Take a peek at the "Work at Home Mom" profiles. Maybe it will give you some ideas of what you could do from home.
