Hi! I am going to be transitioning from a full-time working mom to a full time stay at home mom at the end of January. I have a three year old daughter who has been in full time childcare since she was 16 mos. She really loves school and the interaction with the other kids and I am looking for advice on how to transition her from full-time school to being at home. I want to make sure it is an easy transition, but am not sure how to prepare her for the move.

Thanks for your help!

Make sure you still get her out and about plenty, and she should do fine. My 3 year old goes to Sunday School and Awana on Wed. When I get a car again I will start taking her to a play group at the library. And to visit with friends. Try to have some sort of a schedule at home. Be ready for a lot of play, you are going to be her new best friend.

Hello and welcome Glad you found us

My first suggestion would to be to check out the Money Matters forums and read some of the topics in there. That is definitely a good start...and certainly feel free to post your questions too .The ladies are super helpful

Then try simple and frugal living. Great place to go to help you start decluttering and simplifying your life to try and focus on what really is important!

Good luck!

Welcome!!!

I would suggest that you find as many free activites as you can for your child. For instance, playgroups are usually free and there are kids all the same age that interact with each other.

Another suggestion I have would be the library story hour. Or just going to the library. There are always other kids there. Ours has a train table and other kid things. It is also good 1 on 1 time for me and my 3 yr old. She picks out books and we read them in the big comfy chairs. I usually plan to stay for an hour. Of course we bring more home to read and she loves returning them next time. A good book about the library is Lola at the Library by Anna McQuinn. It talks about the lending process if she hasn't done that before.
