How does everyone "quote" another person's reply in their reply and get that nice little box? I tried to hit the quote button, but it just added a reply with the word "quote" on each side of the quote.

No such thing as a dumb question. It will keep the quote words there but once you click submit reply after you finish your post, it will look correct. Try it with my post and see if it works.

Hope that helps.

It confused me at first, too.

There's no such thing as a dumb question. I hope you understood the explanation. If you need anything else, just let us know!

I get how to quote someone, but what confuses me, is how to quote SEVERAL people in one post!

This one took me a while to figure out too.

This is how I do it.

I click quote, then when it gives me the new page I copy and paste the text, then I exit the page without clicking submit reply. Then I go into the other person's post I want to quote, click quote again, and then paste the first person's quote into the body of the reply.

Hope that makes sense. I didn't do a very good job of explaining it.

I don't know how to do that either! I just cut and paste but there has to be an easier way...

You should be able to hit the quote button and it will show the person you're quoting, their words will be enclosed with brackets and the word QUOTE. You can then type your words underneath. Then just click 'submit reply' to post it.

When you click 'quote', and it takes you to a new page to quote someone, you can also scroll down to the bottom of the page. There is everyones post with the most recent at the top of the list. You can copy and paste from there, withought having to exit and return to the page.

HTHs!

However... I learned to do the quoting (for one or several posts) all in the quick reply!!!

I hope im able to explain it properly...here it goes:

*Click on the "quick reply" button on any post to activate the quick reply.
*Then copy and paste one of the posts from above into the quick reply section.
*Highlight what you just copied and select the icon from the quick reply that looks like words surronded by a bubble (okay, i don't know what it's called... but when you put the cursor obove it it reads "Wrap Quote tags around selected text")

That will quote the selected text with out putting the person's name who wrote it. and you can do it as many times as you want. Now if you want to include the person's name all you have to do is....

[QUOTE=doozer ]I get how to quote someone, but what confuses me, is how to quote SEVERAL people in one post! [/quote]

In front of the first "[quote]" write it with the name like this [quote=doozer]

Gosh... i hope that makes sense, it wasn't easy to explain... I hope you understand this....
