I'm new here to the board, but not to trying to be frugal and save as many ways as I can. I have two kids. Kayla (6) and AJ (2) and four furbabies. Three kitties and we have a new puppy From what I can tell, pets are not frugal investments, lol. Currently I stay home and poorly manage the house. My dh, Jim, is a first year teacher after several years in sales. We moved this past summer to TN for him to teach. I am not happy here yet and it's been a rough adjustment all around. My main focus right now is finding all of our money leaks and getting dh on board to save, save, save. We still own a home where we came from and we're renting it out for now, but we plan to sell it and purchase a new home within the next year or two. I don't want to plant my feet somewhere until I know that's where we want to be. I'm looking forward to "meeting" everyone here.

We don't go to church. I know it's a big deal down here, but at this time, it's just not for us. My dh teaches Spanish at Craigmont High School. My dd is in second grade at Bartlett Elementary. I'm not currently working. We only have one car and my dh has a pt job at Sherwin Williams (one of the companies he did sales for) and he also teaches one night class a week at the community center. We hadn't planned on him working so much but when he started teaching they told him they were going to pay him at the Master's level for his degree and now they're saying they have to wait for state approval...and they've been taking out $250 per check in federal and can't seem to fix the problem. Needless to say, we have a lot less coming in than we were planning on and we've had to make some tough financial decisions unfortunately

How long have you been here? I have a child in high school, two in elementary, and one middle.

We've been here since the first week of August. We moved in on Friday and dd started school that Monday. She still had three weeks of vacation left where we came from so she wasn't very happy, but seems to be enjoying school now. As far as other schools, there are only a few I've heard of and I wouldn't have a clue where they were, lol.

We did the same thing as you last August!! LOL We moved in on a Friday and started school on that Monday. It was wonderful, though, since the kids made friends fast AND I got time to put stuff away, etc. in the new house. Please fell free to holler at me if you need any help on anything. You can private message (pm) me on here for my email and phone number. I don't mind at all. I know how lonely it is to move. We left our home, family, and friends. I had never been away before...and now they are all a full ten hour drive. It was very very hard. I think I am just now beginning to adjust. Good luck!
