I have been coming here for a while now and have always found it to be very helpful. So today I posted something about a service that is giving people who sign up $25 with no strings attached. They are also give $10 for every referral.

I really need money right now so I thought it would help both the person I was referring and it would also help me. However when I posted the link it was removed from the forum because there are no referrals allowed.

I don't think thats the right thing to do, the extra $25 to $60 right away (depending on if your married) could be really helpful to many of the members here.

THis is a real service, and they are beginning just like Paypal did, by offering money as an incentive to sign up.

I am posting this in protest of what I believe to be a poor choice by the mods.

It is just the mommysaver board rules. It's nothing personal. I pm'd you and will say here what I said in the pm:

I am sorry you feel that way. You agreed to these terms when you signed up for Mommysavers. I have copied and pasted them for you:

"SPAM
No spam, advertising, or solicitation of any kind is allowed in the forums or in private messaging. Examples include but are not limited to, survey rewards, home businesses, commercial websites, referral programs, and pyramid schemes."

I don't believe this to be spam.

If someone can get FREE MONEY, with no strings attached, why shouldn't they be allowed to do so. It helps both parties, and even moreso the person signing up. It's not a scam or anything harmful, so I don't see why people can't choose for themselves whether they want to participate.

Poor choice for a board whos claim is to help people save money.

I know it may seem unfair to you, so let me explain the reasons for policies like this. Mommysavers has very strict rules against ANY type of spam and/or referrals. Our moderators are quick to delete any type of posts that include referrals so that our board stays "clean" and spam-free. We do this to keep solicitors and spammers away from our board as well as protect our members.

In the future, we could consider allowing a special referrals forum for members who have a high post count. For now, I don't know if there would be enough interest. I'm happy you've been visiting us for a long time and welcome you to post again as long as you abide by the rules.
