Just wanted to say hello to everyone! I have been reviewing this site for about a month and decided to go ahead and jump in the fray.
This has been a very beneficial site for me. It seems to hit all of the major topics that I face challenges with everyday, toddlers/savings/bargains/managing family finances/grocery savings/recipes/frugalness/etc.
I have had wonderful experiences shopping with the online bargain forum, freebies, etc. I have joined several forums and look forward to learning more.
I have been a SAHM for the past 3 years and am still working on allowing myself to believe that I am providing a valuable much needed service for my family. It's hard to adjust from being a very highly paid working professional at the age of 44 in the Houston suburbs to a small (2500 pop) town in the middle of the Texas panhandle 30 miles from Clovis, NM.
But deep down, I was driving myself crazy with guilt because I was feeling like I needed to do 'more' for my family.
Well God works in mysterious ways and we were blessed with a new addition to our family during this time away from fulltime employment and life is even richer.
We are adjusting to living more frugally and simply in a small rural town. My husband and older son say how much happier they are than they have ever been with me being home fulltime. It is also amazing to see how our meager finances and simple home are being blessed and being multiplied more than we could have even imagined. Plus the fact that we have been able to establish a deeper relationship in our spiritual life. This makes it all worthwhile!!!
