I posted this under another board also, but I was just wondering - from all you frugal mommies - what do you consider a good price on diapers. To be honest, I can get completely overwhelmed on all the choices of packaging, brands, etc. for my dd - how much is too much to pay per diaper? Thanks!

I have been there and done that. I stick w/generic brands b/c it cheaper on a budget on a big family. I have 7 kids...I did buy the expensive Pampers or Huggies brand...for all of them. I have tried them all....they all work fine...especially with those velcro kind...is awesome. I only have 1 my ds who is 2 years old. He wears generic brand which cost about $10.99 at wal mart for 48 or more. It works for me...the cheaper the better for us.

HTH......

I buy the generic too. I like the "Smiles" brand at Sams. I didn't use generic diapers with Gavin (my 2 y/o) because he'd blow out of them. But they've come a long way in just this short ammount of time. I have no problem with Dylan. I think you just have to decide what fits in your budget, and not just stick with a brand becasue it's what you know. I mean really, it's purpose is to catch poop, and pea. Does it really matter if it moves with them, and gives them this and that? JMO! :D

I was a diehard LUVS girl, I thought they worked the best for my kids. After CAmeron came along, money got REAL tight, so I switched to White Cloud and they are JUST as good as Luvs and about $1 less for 30 dieapers. I even switched MIL over to using them too (she watches the kids when I work) and she was impressed as well. I believe its 6.98 for a package.

There was an even cheaper brand at Walmart called Paren't choice I believe, but there is a reason they are so cheap. LOL I only bought them once, and I'll never use them again. They didn't hold anything, and didn't stay closed. And if I pulled to hard on them trying to adjust them on ds, the tabs would just tear right off. I beleive they were around $5 but it was SO not worth it to me. The straw was when they came off when he was sleeping and he made a mess in his bed.

When my son was in diapers...some 4 yrs ago..I tried them all to find a good cheaper brand, White Cloud that can be bought at Walmart (their toilet paper is good too)
Luvs is good, but white cloud is almost like luvs.

I liked LUVs better then any other brand they are not as expensive as PAMPERS, etc... but they lasted over night that was my biggest concern...the generics would soak right through...the generics are only a $1 less...so you would have to wash everything more if they don't hold up, which means more laudry detergant... thats just my opinon

I think it just depends on the kid and the budget. Huggies, for both my DD's. I tried every diaper and nothing worked like Huggies. Walmart diapers were good, the white clouds not parents, my cousins use these.

We use Pampers here, because we switched Evan and he had a reaction to the Rite Aid brand, so we are strictly Pampers, but my mom uses Huggies at her house...

I use Walmart's White Cloud brand or the Toy's R Us brand when they are on sale. I used the name brands with my oldest(21 now) and tried Luvs with my next 2 but they always leaked on me so I just stick with the cheaper ones and they work fine for me.
