Today only, April 30, Safeway has fresh (not frozen) lean ground beef on sale for 99 cents a pound. It's a Cinco de Mayo sale. The packs weigh about 4 lbs. each.

I think Safeway and Vons have the same sales?

Today's "one day sale" at Safeway is for Fresh Pork Shoulder Country Style Ribs for 99 cents a pound.

Friday, 5/2, it's for shrimp at $2.99 a pound (frozen)

Saturday, 5/3, it's for boneless chicken breasts for $1.49 a pound (frozen)

Sunday, 5/4, it's for fresh pork spareribs for $1.69 a pound

It's a great time to stock up for summer barbeques!!

My flyer says .95 per lb for hamburger!!

FYI-There are limits on each special. It says you have to have a minimum purchase of $10 in order to get the deals. I guess someone could make multiple trips into the store each day.

5/01/08 Hamburger: limit 1
05/02/08 Shrimp: limit 2
05/03/08 Pork ribs: Limit 1
05/04/08 Chicken-Limit 1
05/05/08 Lunch meat: No mention of limit.

Double check your ads for dates!! Mine says that the hamburger sale starts today so maybe some of you can still get in one the deals.

Good to know that it varies in different regions. I should have mentioned the $10.00 minimum purchase requirement with all of them. But since I stocked up, I went over that each time.

Note that in my ad, there are NO LIMITS, except on the shrimp!

Oh, and if you try to make multiple trips to exceed the limit, they find out when you check out using your Safeway card.

Interesting that not all regions have the limits on them.

I wondered about that if they would figure it out. My Safeways is in the town over and they are having a blizzard so I wont be going anywhere.
