No, you need to hand them to the cashier. So make sure you keep them!! I just found a $20 one that expired in January the other day so watch the expiration dates too. So after the cashier rings up your purchase, then give them any X off Y coupons (like they frequently have $3/$10 CVS product), then give them any manufacturer coupons you have, then last, hand them your ECBs to pay whatever is left.
One word of caution if you're new and don't know how they work...DON'T give them an ECB that is more than your balance or really close as you don't get back the extra. So for instance if you owe $2 and you give them a $5 ECB, you just lose the extra $3. Hope that makes sense!!
