Navy Exchange markdowns
Most items end in .99. A few will end in .00 such as the expensive perfume, B&BW items, etc.
For most items:
If and item ends in .97 it's the first markdown taken for that item.
If it is .96 it's the final markdown. (an item ending in .96 can NOT be put on layaway).
In my experience as a patron and employee the Nex doesn't like to mark down their hardline stuff (Electronics, linens,H&B, hardware, toys, and L&G) as much as they do the softline (clothing, shoes, handbags (which of course exclude Coach and D&B)).
They will take an inital markdown on an item and do large sales you'll see in the add saying "All .96 and .97 clothing an extra __% off". Most additional discounts are saved for the Tent Sales. That's when you'll see the big white ten out in the parking lot and all departments put stuff there they need to get rid off. Tword the end of each clothing season they will do more "addition off's" as it gets closer to the new clothing season. The % off's start small and get larger as it gets closer, with the largest usually being during the tent sales.
Also, the sticker on the shelf that the store put on with the price, if there is a (D) in front of the description that item is deleted and once it's gone it's gone. Even if it takes a year to get rid of it, which sometimes it has!
Coach note: It is marked down once a year and that is black friday!!! The deleted items will be put in the clearance section, but it's not that much off the NEX reg price.
