I start my shopping on black Friday and I usually get it all done then. I make a list of who I have to get gifts for and an idea of what I would like to get them. I get great deals on everything shopping that day and I have a blast running around with my mother and grandmother.

I also shop the clearance items year round. When I see something great for someone on my list, I buy it. I have a couple of storage bins that I use to store the prepurchased gifts.

I bought most of the toys for the younger kids on my list after Christmas at 75%-90% off. (I also bought some extras to use as birthday gifts for ds's friends).

For the older kids (teens) on my list, I use my Discover card throughout the year and save up the cash back bonus. I use that to get gift cards. You can usually get a $25 gift card for $20 worth of the cash back bonus and you really aren't spending any $ out of pocket!

I haven't started on dh yet - he is hard to shop for and doesn't like to give me any ideas
