I have had no problems with Walmart and Target clothes at all. But I do like to get a good deal at the outlet stores like Childrens Place and Old Navy. You can always get coupons and get some great deals on clothes there.

I have to say I have been an avid walmart and target shopper for years, but the last couple years prices have continued to creep up even at these discount stores....so I wait for the great deals at gymboree (for example thier school sale) I purchased things like a pair of jeans for $15, which is only a couple dollars more at most then discount stores....but the difference is they stay nice, and most importantly you can almost make back every penny you spent on them by reselling them the next year when the kis have grown out of them, giving you money to buy the next size up! Walmart and Target clothes just don't have that resale value.

Clothes that I think wear and Wash The Nicest

Circo( Target) brand

Gymboree

Health tex

Osh Kosh

Gap

i am not that impressed with Walmart or Kmart clothes anymore-
I also don't think Carters or Buster Brown are as Good as they used to be.

Also - Now that I Get so much on clearence at gap kids - I Realize its Much better Quality than old navy .
I know they are the Same Company -
I can Really Tell that the gap kids stuff is Made more indestructable -

I always say, if its cute and the price is right, I buy it!! Over the years I've learned about diffrent companies. Like Gymboree has really cute clothes, but as an avid gymbo fan, I must admit that some of thier stuff is worse than walmart. Quality wise that is. Most of the stuff I get my kids does hold up, every once and a while I get something that I'm just NOT happy with. And they do have a reputation for horrible CS.

Same with TCP, but they have terrific CS I've found. Plus I can get some terrific bargains in there during sale time. I posted a printable coupon today too, if you see it, print it and take it with you for extra savings!

Old Navy is always a winner in my book.

I've also found that certain times of the year, you can get certain brand name items really cheap at Marshalls or TJMaxx. But depends on when you go and what sort of sale they are having.

I'm also a huge fan of H+M. If you have one nearby, you MUST check it out. Everything in there is so reasonabley prices, and cute as can be!! Most of thier stuff is gymbo quality, with a Hanna twist. (Hanna Anderssen, a very pricey European brand) Now that is a place to get deals!! I've gotten whole outfits for each of my kiddos for less than$10 in there!!

I had to think about this one. Usually, DD grows out of her clothes before they wear out. However, when considering how well some things launder and which items DD loves to wear over and over again, I have to say: Most of the items from JC Penneys.

Last year DD wore only jeans to school all year long. Most of her jeans were Bongo brand on sale at JC Penneys for under $15. They fit great, laundered beautifully and DD adored their styles. I bought her several Bongo jeans this year.

When you catch a sale (which is easy), JC Penneys also have terrific and inexpensive fashion T-shirts. This year I learned my lesson and bought several in a size larger than DD wheres now because I know these will last. Penneys also tends to have cute dresses and a decent supply of underthings.

I also like getting clothes for DD from Burlington Outlet, particularly winter outerwear.

BTW, I've bought items from Children's Place for DD and she hates them. Yeah, the stay new looking but that's because they are always at the bottom of her dresser drawer. I do agree, however, that some items from Old Navy are great. It depends on what you're buying.

Oh one last one: Kohls. they have terrific sales!! If you hit it just right, with a coupon you can really save big. Alot of times they have early bird sales, like if you get there before noon on a saturday and most of the stuff is already marked down. If you score a coupon, sometimes they will be in the flyer, you can save a ton. I know people who will buy for the whole season with these sales. I will usually bring my MIL who says she likes to give me her 'old lady discount'.

Not that I have tons of clothes from here, but since I have 2 boys I am okay with buying certain stuff from Lands End.The quality is great and I can hand it down they even say that in their catalogs! clothes meant to hand down.

I have found good deals at Kohls too.

For discount stores I say Target I get LOTS of stuff there for the boys with no problems!

I know Sears has a replacement policy on things like jeans and shoes. So if your kid wears them out before they outgrow them they will replace them. When you go to purchase the items ask about the KidVantage program at any register it is free to join. I think it only goes up to size 6 X but I could be wrong definitely ask about it next time your at sears though. Oh and it dosent work on Lands End products. Happy Shopping
