I've been looking high and low for a fall rain/shine coat that is dressy enough to be worn with skirts but casual enough for jeans as well. I found the perfect one at JC Penny's yesterday and almost bought it, it was a good deal at $119.99 on sale.

Well I was in WAL-MART of all places this morning getting the colour hair colouring I use. I have been boycotting Wal-mart, BUT they are the only place that has the shade I use. I've checked everywhere. Only Walmart. So I reluctantly go there.

I found almost the exact same jacket at Wal-mart for $24.99! It didn't have the zip out lining, but I figure I'm not going to use the zip out lining on really cold days anyway, since it's mostly a rain jacket. The features were exactly the same. Same luxurious fabric (I couldn't believe it!), same fastenings, etc. I will relent and say the sizing was a little skimpier - but that's good for me! I am petite and have an extremely hard time finding something to fit well, especially outerwear. So it was smaller exactly where I needed it!

I ended up getting one in black for fall, one in a gold colour for spring, a quilted jacket Nicer than the one at JC Penny's and a sweater that I could use for chilly school mornings to take ds to school. They were all great quality and the price was fantastic! I haven't bought fall jackets for so long since something has always come first and I hate parting with the $ but then always wish I had when I'm dropping off ds with a shabby sweater or a jacket that isn't in season because I don't have anything else. So I thought the great prices justified me buying what I've truly been needing for years! I got 4 jackets for the price of one!

Ok, now I have to be honest. I went home and took off each and every label that had the Wal-mart brand on it, I used my seam ripper and they came off flawlessly. They are now sharing space with my London Fog jacket, thank you very much and no one would be the wiser! I know that's a little 'small' of me, why should I care if someone saw the Wal-mart label? But with the labels off (the inside ones sewn on I'm talking about) it could compare to a $150 jacket.

This is so me!! The kids all have new coats, not me. I ususally have 1 per season, and then kick myself when I show up in the same jacket everyday! You have peaked my interest - is it on Walmart.com? I would love to see this jacket and myabe steal your fashion sense and get one too!
