Everyone was so helpful in suggestions for quality clothes...how about shoes????

Both my kids have Wide feet....So we have a hard time finding cheap cute quality shoes!!!! I also have feet that are terribel so I feel that is one area I will budget for...good shoes! but I still want to find them under $15-20 if I can!

Stride rite - ebay, consignment shops, amazon sale, Marshalls

Payless - sometimes have shoes that will work...so said that all those sparkly ones will just not fit on my 2 year old! We just love teh sparkly shoes....we may just have to make our own! !!!!

My march goes on...I bet many children are squished into shoes that don't fit...My daughter measures 7....she is in an 8! with about 1/2 inch of growing room. We have Tsukihouhis...great for wide feet but they were $35.oo at a local shop with a coupon! They are $52.00 online! ...nce to actually shop local and get the best prices! It can happen!

I'd be interested in knowing this too. My son is an extra wide. So far we've been going to the stride rite outlet. The last 2 times we were there though, they didn't have any extra wide dress shoes in his size. I don't like buying shoes online as much since each brands wide and extra wide vary, but will have to at this point.

What size extra wide??? We are in 8 and 11.5 now!~ I hope we get some posts on this one! You should check amazon.com....They usually clearance the Xwide very low!

Well, I don't scrimp on shoes, but I will buy my son (XXW) at the Stride Rite outlet. I have tride Payless and other brands and they do NOT fit right.

So, I spend a lot ($25 at the outlets), but he only gets one pair of sneakers and one pair of sandles (Teva's are great and I can get those on clearance at Stride Rite outlets or on e-bay) at a time. We don't have a lot of shoes per child. Two pairs, that is IT.

So, that is the way WE save money on shoes. I have a friend whose 18 month old dd has, literally, 25 pairs of shoes! Where will she wear all these shoes more than once before she outgrows them? I have no clue!

I have to say....I do that with DS...But with DD...it takes more thought ....to simplfiy! I joke how easy it is to shop the sales for DS...with DD there are 30 shades of pink and purple and all the trend colors! It is overwheming to me...I am simplifying ! I am sticking with browns and pinks...that is it! I have one pair of good sneakers and I am on the lookout for a great pair of Maryjanes that we can wear to church and play. It is so hard to find wide shoes that fit right! WE are kinda close to a SR outlet...but I Am still justifying an hour drive for 1 pair of shoes.

I may need to time that when DS needs hios new ones....$25 bucks for SR...sounds good to me! I just wish They were at the mall for that price!

At the very end of August I purchased 2 pair of 9w stride rite shoes for my daughter (age 3) on Amazon.com. They were on clearance, and I qualified for free shipping! My total for both pairs was $25! It can be done.. you just have to watch carefully for them.

For wide kids shoes, Payless has great deals. I got a pair of dress shoes for DS on sale for $5 and when I went back in last week, they had more deals. I was tempted to buy a couple pair of different kinds of shoes for him in a few sizes up just so we'd have them, but I opted out (and got a pair of shoes for myself instead!). Their sizes tend to run weird, I think. I normally wear an 8.5 dress shoe (9 sneaker) but I had to go to an 8 for dress shoe, and even then it kinda feels a little loose on my foot.

i understand you wanting to keep it under 20 bucks but watch famous footwear if you have one near new balance now makes wide shoes(we get alot at stride right also my boys have no archs so we have to get good shoes in order to avoid major shoe sores) we got buy one get one 1/2 and i had a coupon for 10 bucks off so i got 2 pair of new balance tennis shoes in wide for my ds's and it only cost me 45 bucks with tax original pair was on sale for 34.99 then the 2nd pair was same price so 1/2 that was 17.49 then i had a 10.00 off coupon so i scored and got really good shoes for their feet. you just have to be almost shopping before they are gonna need the shoes in order to get great deals.
