What is Walmart's return policy?

SIL & BIL bought towels for us as a Christmas gift. While we really appreciate them we really don't need anymore towels and I feel bad because I kind of gushed over them so now I can't ask for the receipt. I found out they came from Walmart. If I return them, will Walmart just give me a store credit without a receipt? If I have to keep them, will they let me exchange for a different color? Thanks for any help.

Generally without a receipt you will get store credit or an exchange. If it is something that is on clearance now, you will only get the price of what it rings up.

I have never had a bad experience with WalMart giving me store credit without a receipt. I have even returned things there when I wasn't absolutely sure that's where it CAME from, lol.

our walmart generally gives cash back unless it is over about $30 i think. they take back anything!!!!!

Usually without a receipt, they put the amount on a gift card buy they always take stuff back. I got dd a camera for Christmas and it wasn't like she wanted. They gave her the full amount on a gift card.

Did find out something tonight. We took back the robes grandma got the kids and of course did not have the receipt. They put it on a giftcard but said that I have brought back 4 things without receipts and I can not bring anything else back w/o receipt for about 6 months. I thought that was weird. I mean, they had the tags on them and obviously came from Walmart. Why that policy?

probably for theft reasons.. My guess is that some people steal anything, and then return it to get cash or the gift card and then use it to buy cigs, or Rx drugs, or what ever else they can't manage to "sneak" out the door.

Our walmart always gives back $cash$ receipt or not.
