Ally...

It used to be under the FAQ's, however I don't see it anymore! I would just call your local studio and ask! I know I have used JC P coupons before, but your only allowed one every 6 months. Not sure how they keep track!

The CD is $19.99 with a purchase of $149.99!

I realize that they need to make a profit
Yea and like it doesn't cost only like 50 cents per page to print it out (or less).. they want to rip you a new one and know that they can take advantage of the parents that don't feel confident in taking their own pictures of their children -- and the backgrounds and stuff. they just are taking advantage of it, and trying to make the most bang for their buck. what they also assume is that people don't know how much it costs to print off photos these days..

Do you ladies usually take your kids to a department store for pics? I can't decide where I should go. Some of my friends have said the department stores can be iffy--they don't know how to deal w/ kids or aren't quick enough. So far I've been taking my DS to a local studio that's pretty much geared for kids. Their prices are more than department stores, but less than a "professional" photog. I think once he's a yr, I'll just do the sears or penney's thing. Too bad about Sears being stingy--they're closest to me.

I don't have to feel comfortable taking their pics because I have them taken! I feel fine taking pics at home, but I will not take pics that should be taken in a studio at home!!! That's just how I feel

We took Evan every month to get his pics taken, and have found (since he was 6 months) that Sears take the best! The photographers are the best and they are very good with kids! We have an appt. @ 7 because thats the last session of the day and we have 2 photographers that will be working with us, since we will have 2 costume changes!

I know photography very well. It is my hobby since high school. I am telling you my next step is going to be a small studio in the basement. Those services are way too expensive with crapy quality. Sears ruined my wedding pictures, PictureMe – my daughter 2-year Birth Day photos. Stupid me – I try to find cheaper this year and in the end pay even more for the crap. PictureMe tricked me with CD price (29.99 – for 1 pose, and I paid 79.99 for 6, just for CD) and selection of backgrounds on their web site – only half of them was there and half of it on a small carbon board that can not fit a family, just a child, no appropriate setting to shoot child standing - the camera does not shoot on the eye level, not enough lighting. Other backgrounds are just for 2-3 people. I should run away from the moment I see the setting of this so-called studio but I had in mind the cheap price. JC Penny does not have CD option. I am afraid to try PicturePeople – their price almost as professional but I am doubt that real professionals go there to work. Maybe I am wrong.
Do those studio technicians (I can not call them artists or professionals) read any books on photography? Or, just like monkeys do push the button whatever light and whatever background (with old-ware holes! sometime)
The only one studio I can recommend so far is Kiddie Kandids (Baby R Us). So far - the best selection of backgrounds and good lighting. They do not put much work into background lighting but front lighting is good.
KiddieKandids.com/pricing_packages: 10 sheets + CD + extra = $119.95
