I work from home for someone else too. It a great solution when the kids are young as you can be there if you have one home from school sick, or to change a load of laundry on breaks.
The biggest thing is having the discipline to get work done. It is so easy do stuff around the house or stuff online. Is there a way to track your hours. All of my activity is logged so I know my hours. I can also bank hours so I tend to do more work in the evenings while dh travels and then take some time for me during the day.
It was nearly impossible to do when the kids were younger before they went to school. I could do neither job well and ended up having to find daycare for a while which sort of defeated the purpose of working from home.
I love not commuting (some days I do have to travel) and wearing what I like. I love making my own hours.
I don't like being forgotten which seems to happen a lot or not being able to move 'up' because I'm not willing to be transfered to work in the main office.
It works well for our family and our situation but in truth I find it a bit isolating at times.
