I am looking for some cheap but creative ways to have a home office. The main thing I have done is make a desk out of 2 file cabinets with a spare countertop as the desktop. The whole thing was free from a local business that was upgrading their whole office.

I am looking for some ways to keep my office organized though! I need some creative way to store my receipts. I hate drawers because I always forget to put things back and they end up on top of my desk. I would like an office to use for more than just a storage unit. I would love to actually want to work IN my office! LoL

Thank you in advance for your ideas! I am at a mental block and it just makes me want to scream when I walk in there!!

I use baskets to hold ink pens & pencils, note pads and stamps.

You can take a shoebox and cover it with contact paper to hold receipts or even a small recipe box will work.

I also keep my computer paper and other papers in wicker baskets. I just think everything looks neater.

If you don't have room on your desk, install some shelves on the wall above your desk, to hold the baskets or whatever you end up using.

I was watching an old episode of Drew Carey Show and he was using old pizza boxes to organize his receipts! I could only laugh because at this thought because I could see myself using shoe boxes because I know I have TONS of those in my closet.
