Where is the best place to look for a reputable WAH job that is NOT a scam?

I hesitate to post other boards that I look at for work at home ideas on a forum. I don't want to violate any forum rules.

Search job boards and then investigate each company. At bare minimum, google "company name insert here" scam, and see if it raises any red flags. There are special wahm boards that can be of great help too. Never pay to find out about a job. Finding a wahm job isn't easy, but not impossible. Don't expect a big salary though, if they claim you'll get one, it's a scam.

Just think of some skills you're good at. I am a medical (chiropractic) biller and I have worked for one office for 6 years, I'm on salary so I have my hours down to about 15-20/week. So with the rest of my time I started looking on craigslist for other chiropractors looking for a biller and found one who was okay with my doing it from home. It only was about 10 hours a week, but worked out perfect! I just got "laid off" because their kid is in preschool so the drs wife is taking back over, but I have a 3 month old plus 2 others, so I didn't have much time anyway! I'm going to start looking for another office in a few weeks and see if I can do it some more!

I am looking for a WAH job.....however I have been burned and don't trust much of anything anymore.... I would be interested in chatting with anyone that is successfully WAH and would be willing to share what they are doing. I have very good computer skills, I am a creative person, do crafts, and follow directions well. I know there are jobs out there.....but I have not to this point found anything that does not want money to tell you about it.....and they all sound to good to be true for the most part. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I just started a WAHM job for a professor at a university. It's all database entry stuff but I get paid $16 a hour. It's all legit. You will know as they will need your Social Insurance Number (or whatever you call it there) and you will get proper statements of income for filing taxes.

Try making some connections in some of the colleges / universities and see if anyone needs any data entry people. Often they do and to find someone reliable who doesn't need office space is a bonus for them!

If you are really good at editing you can put that on cragslist or kijiji saying you will edit a student's paper for $___ a page. Lots of students are willing to pay the extra money to have a paper edited.

Another idea is doggee daycare. I know a couple who take in dogs while their owners are at work for $25 a day per pet. What some people will do for their dogs!

You could also watch other people's kids if you have the energy. I did this for a time but I found it exhausting.
