We have someone in our church selling books, we have someone selling Mary Kay, we have someone selling Tupperware. I don't want to sell Pampered Chef because that's too expensive and will take sales away from Tupperware. Don't want to sell Avon cuz it will take sales away from Mary Kay. So, are there any other options for things for me to sell to get a little cash to go shopping with whenever I need to get stuff that my SSI can't afford? Please reply if you know how to help me...thanks!!

How about Partylite? Do you like candles?? A partylite party always makes a great 'evening out' for the ladies!
Tastefully simple is also a great company to work for and thier parties are ALL foods tastings. Grab a bunch of girls and a bottle of wine and have a GREAT time.

Toys? Health Items? Chocolate? What do you think you would like selling? Don't sell anything you aen't interested in.
How large is your church? If it were me, I would probably still try selling Avon(as long as it interests you). Some ladies like Mary Kay better, and some like Avon better. And some ladies like different products from both companies. Plus, Avon is cheaper, and has more items for you to sell. I am not trying to say they are better, just telling you that you might have more opportunites to sell with Avon. There is more than just makeup, you could get male clients too.

Someone at our church sells a clothing line, business and nice casual clothing. I believe she does quite well. I'm sorry I can't remember the company name, I'll add it later if I can find it.

Food items are always a good bet. That's what I sell. Everyone needs to eat.
You said you're on SSI.. watch out, you're only allowed to have an income of $65 a month before they start taking it out of your SSI.

I looked on the Partylite page and it doesn't tell the price of the products. I want to know the prices before I decide to sell them or not. I found out that someone in our church also sells Avon. So, now, I'm still trying to come up with something.
I can't find a chocolate place...that sounds good! What woman doesn't like chocolate?

I beleive with Partylite, the kit is like $300 maybe??? BUT they always work out some deal with you, like if you schedule so many parties, you get the kit for free or a major discount. Most of those at home party programs do this for you. Its been SO long since I did partylite, I can't tell you how much exactly. But I did pretty good when I had a good party. One party that my mom held for me, I made a commission of over $100 that was all mine. In those days, it was alot of paperwork, bookwork, before everything went online. I bet now that everything is online, its MUCH easier to keep a business going.

Have you checked any of the other threads on here?? We do have a few that sell chocolate, they could point you in the right direction. Check out the networking forum and maybe pm someone you find with an interesting business for help.

Also at the top of this forum, you'll see the legit WAH options thread, check that out as well, there might be some ideas in there for you.

Partylite is the one party I will not attend no matter how many times I am invited. Way overpriced, IMO.
Last year I was invited to a jewelry party - all silver - very nice stuff. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of it. I also went to a foundation party - high quality bras and such - they help you w/ the fitting in your home. Got a nice bra in my hard-to-fit size.

Well you know I will say lia sophia jewelry. The price point is $16-$198..77% of the catalog is under $50..
I would check with SSI, it is based off of what you write off or the amount before your do your write offs..
Dove chocolate is the other direct sales company..
Kids toys?
What about gold parties?? You go and don't sell anything, but customers trade in their gold and get cash. My friend just started doing this. Seems pretty good so far, not sure how long it will really last. Depends on how the gold prices stay.
