Has anyone seriously ever thought about this? I actually have an idea (and anyone that knows me probably knows what that idea is ) in mind and I've been looking into it. Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts here?

Probably not the same thing that your thinking of, but when I use to sew all the time, I took several different patterns and combine them to make one of a kind clothing for myself and dd.

I actually like doing that!

We have a clothing line with our current business and dh had a line with his last business.

We do not design clothing, but have a wholesale license, so we purchase t's, hoodies, rash guards, hats and other soft goods and then send them to be printed with our business logo. (wholesale soft goods are really cheap)

You pay for the screen printer to transfer your design once, then they have it for all future printings.

So, if there is an image you would like to use (and it's not trademarked, our logo is), you could print clothing with that particular image. If it is difficult to find a non-trademarked image you like, then you could work with a graphic artist and have them create one for you, then go through the trademark process. That is what we did with our logo, dh likes to play with graphic design and we have a good friend that is a professional and works with us, the trademark cost $275.

Doesn't Project Runway make designing clothes look so glamorous?? LOL I know they make it LOOK easy, I can barely run my sewing machine. LOL

Ruthie I useed to do that too. I had 2 patterns one was for a halter top type dress, the other for pants. One time I made just the top part of the halter dress, and cut it short for a shirt, then made matching pants. It was cute! I've also made lots of pants to go with pillowcase dresses for my girls. There is no way they would wear them anymore, but one summer they wore them ALL the time and I got so many compliments on them! I would also crochet fun fur onto thier flip flops, make them bows and they had WHOLE outfits. I would KILL myself to make sure they were dressed to the nines in home made stuff. Those days are loooooonnnnggg gone.
