Also one of them sent me a case of free training diapers and asked me to mail in a survey on them. I think it's worth a shot if you have some time to sit down and take these surveys. If you make more than $600.00 in a year on them then you do have to claim it on your taxes. I made about $90.00 so far...
Is it $600 per company or all companies combined $600 or more that you would have to claim on taxes?

Thx

It's another of those "check with your tax professional", but it's if you make over $600 in income you have to claim it - it depends on your situation. For some it could be $400. This amount covers any income...like if I'm a SAHM, and do mystery shopping and surveys, it's including all income under that, plus any garage sales, eBay sales, etc.

Some send you a 1099, others don't. Obviously, they need your ss# to do a 1099, and they get to write it off. Others just use marketing funds.

I found a site through an old Readers Digest article that I didn't see listed on here yet. It's called Findfocusgroups.com. I believe that once you are approved for the focus group it's either over the phone or online. There are some focus groups that pay $100 or up. There were none in my area but I will keep checking.

I'm curious about signing up to one of these paid survey sites. It sounds as though Mypoints.com is one of everyone's favorite because you can accumulate points quickly. However, don't cookies cause damage or should I say access to your computer for viruses, etc.? I'm thinking my hubby (computer watchdog) will not go for the idea if cookies are needed. Please advise. Thanks!

Many of these kinds of sites load spyware and adware onto your computer. I would advise anyone using them to run whatever malware cleaners you have and dump your cache immediately after doing online surveys.

Those are exactly the concerns my husband has (spyware, adware, etc.). I'll pass along your suggestion and see if I can then participate in the online surveys to earn a little $$ from home. Thanks again!

I just joined mypoints and I feel like i'm signing up for everything under the sun. is the only way to get points by registering for free stuff to fill up my mailbox and giving out my email address over and over? Am I missing something?

With mypoints, you don't have to sign up for ANYTHING. YOu get 5 points, just for 'reading' the emails, thats it. They send about 5 or 6 a day, just click on the 'get more points' thing, then when it opens, you get the 5 points automatically, so you can just close it out. YOu get more points when you actually sign up for stuff, but thats not a requirement.
