Hey everyone, I'm currently looking to start my own business outside my home. I'd like to open a consignment shop. Does anyone have any advice for me? Anyone ever do something like this before??? Any and all opinions welcome!!

Come up with a business plan.
Talk to people who've done it before.
Carefully estimate costs and expenses in order to analyze how much revenue you'll need in sales to make it profitable.

Is this something you can start online? Overhead is so much lower and you're reaching a larger market.

Good luck!

Try this group:

SCORE | Counselors to America's Small Business | SCORE

They can help with writing a business plan, etc. Also, check local universities or community colleges - they may have departments or courses that can be of use.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Actually, its funny you mention an online store, I'm considering that right now too. I thought it might be easier to sell my stuff on ebay, but through a store, rather than people bidding. I think I'm going to start working on that this week.
