ChaCha.com is hiring SMS Text Guides. This is a great way to make extra income. I have been working for ChaCha myself for a little over a month now. please visit ChaCha.com to see how they work and what you will be doing. This is a REAL JOB, you will have to submit an application to ChaCha and pass 4 tests before they will hire you.

If you have any questions or need any clarification, Ill try to answer everything to the best of my knowledge. However I have nothing to do with you getting hired by them. I am only a fellow sms guide.

I have been inactive for a year now but started when it first launched. It is legit. I just don't have the time for it right now and you need to have some quiet time which I never get.

I went to the website and it seemed very interesting. When someone asks a question, does it go to a database and the first person who answers it gets paid (are there multiple people working on answering the question)? Or do they give you one question at a time and when you answer it, they give you another? Do you choose your questions to answer? The website doesnt really explain the process of what exactly you do and how you get paid for it. Thanks for sending out the info!

Okay let me try to explain in a way that makes sense lol questions are sent to a database but they are automatically assigned to guides who are logged on and accepting questions at the time. Each guide can only work on 1 question at a time, and there is only 1 guide per question. You will get another question automatically sent to you when you finish the question you are on. You kinda get to choose your questions, but not always. If you are hired you will get to set up what they call Key Words. You get to pick up to 50 of them. When a question comes in to the database it looks for guides who have keywords related to the question and those guides if availible will get the question over someone who doesnt have it as a keyword. But you will still get questions that have nothing to do with the keywords you choose simply if you are the only guide free to take the question.

You get paid for every question you answer. You get 20 cents for every question. It doesnt sound like alot but it adds up fast. Most questions can be answered in 30 seconds-2 min once you get the hang of it. Personally I average about $8 an hour when I sit down and actually concentrate on only work. When I half-ass do it lol, I only make about $2-$4 an hour. But this isnt where you have to have a quiet home office etc. Usually when Im only half doing it, its because Im on my laptop watching TV and answering questions during commercial breaks lol. Most guides start off making around $4-$5 an hour. Once they get the hang of it they usually move up to the $6-$10 an hour bracket. Top guides make around $12 an hour. Its a great way to make extra income. Working it as a full time job could be tough unless you fall into one of the higher brackets. They have 2 payment options, 1 is to have your earnings directly deposited to your bank account once a month. The other is to sign up for a ChaCha debit card you can transfer your earnings to it at any time but its a $2 fee to transfer funds. The debit card works at all atms to withdraw funds from it etc.

Hope this helps some

I passed the first 3 tests, and now am studying for the final one! I am nervous, I really want to do this!!! I belong to another site where there are several guides and some of them have set daily goals for themselves. I like the fact I can work when I want, and it does not matter if the kids are not being quiet since there is no phone work involved. I have several things we would like to purchase, what a great way to see it add up! I hope I pass my test, I am going to try to take it tomorrow.

You will be issued a 1099, as you are an independent contractor with them in case anyone is interested.

Good Luck! On the 15 question simulator the top things to remember are, use complete sentences, and correct punction, grammer, and spelling in all your answers. Also make sure you are only using valid sources and none of the blacklisted sites mentioned in the KB. Once again good luck and let us know how it goes!

I took my test last night, and this afternoon I got the email that said I passed! I was slow, I thought for sure I had failed the test! There was only 1 question I was albsolutely stumped on, I am very excited to be able to earn some money with 3 kids underfoot all summer!

I have looked into this. I haven't signed up though. Was wondering do you need to download a program to do this?

I would be very interested but I am going to be gone for the next 2 1/2 months. Would I be able to be signed up and inactive for 2 months or should i wait until I get home in September?
