Maybe get some ideas in here hopping around!

If you could sell one product, from home, what would it be and why would you chose that product?

Note by Mod: Please, no company specifics (i.e., not Avon, but cosmetics or beauty company), and no spamming. Posts that spam or are specific will be removed or edited if they are worded in a "spam" way.

I'm going to add one thing. It can be something that you have made or it can be something that someone else has made but it has to be a product that you love!

Thats a tough question. What I would like to sell is more of a service as I love designing and planning.
Knitting Patterns if I could get them published and make a go of it.

OK we can put services in there too!

I would like to do a Green product! Go figure. Selling an organic compost or vermicompost. Of course I'm not even sure where I would begin with that. Not enough property.

You mean one product of the already established party-plan franchises out there? I've sold Tupperware and Avon. Tupperware was the best plan until they started to sell it in Target, etc. Avon is a good product but it appeals to a different kind of woman than I have in my area. I'm allergic to Mary Kaye so I'm not selling that. I like Pampered Chef products but their representative deal isn't so hot. I can't stand that crystal company (forget their name). My SIL used to sell Longenberger baskets which are neat but very limited. She also sold a home decorating line which I found to be a little tacky. I probably wouldn't sell Shakley or any of those vitamin / houseware / self-improvement lines (blue green algea, etc) simply because of the reputation they have. I like some of the toy lines out there but I haven't found them to be much different from what I can already find in stores.

I think I trend toward kitchen and cooking products. I've been interested in Walkins spices but I'd want to distribute only through small local stores, catalogs and websites (ebay).

I would do Uppercase Living. I LOVE their products though I have no idea what sort of arrangement the representatives get.

Well I do sell jewelry! I love it! The reason I picked jewelry was b/c it sold itself, women love to earn free jewelry and our comp plan is great!! We get 2 new catalogs a year, so this makes getting your past hostesses to rebook easy!!

Now if I had to pick something other than jewely it would be DOVE at home. They do chocolate parties.. Who doesn't love chocolate???

If I had to sell an established product I would sell Lovable Labels I've tried lots of labels over the years and these are the only ones that have shown no signs of wear over the years even after going through the dishwasher nearly every night. It's a product I believe in.

If I could sell a service, I would be a life coach, helping others navigate decisions in their life about where they want to be and how they want to get there, everything from making a financial plan for the future, to losing weight, to training for and getting the job of their dreams. I'm an encourager and trainer and feel most energized when I'm doing these things.

I sold tupperware for a couple of years and loved it! I got so much free and dis-counted tupperware it is unreal, but so much fun! I got out of it because DH works afternoons and when dd was born, it wouldn't have paid me to get a baby-sitter while I did parties, and I was getting a little burnt out,
If I ever chose to do something again, it would probably be pampered chef! I love their products and would love to get free and discounted products!
I do have a friend that sells gold canyon candles(the best candles out there!) and tastefully simple(those are fun parties to go to, you get to eat), she does very well with both of those, those are the best sellers that I know of!

i would definitely sell baby slings. i know there's lots of competition, but not for quality slings. it would probably be a very slow moving business, but great for a little extra cash. i was also interested in making jewelry. again, there's lots of competition, but if you make high quality items, you can do okay.
