I know most of you posting in this forum either have or are looking for WAH businesses. My goal right now is a bit different. I need fundraising ideas. I posted in the subforum (where you can go to get more details of why I need to do this), but thought I would get a better response here.

Please help me brainstorm on ideas on how to raise this money!!! These are the things I have come up with so far:

1) mass e-mail campaign
2) post on MS
3) letters requesting sponsorship or donation to stores I frequent - I offered to put their logo on my t-shirt too
4) putting baked goods out at neighbors' yard sales
5) putting "muffins for mammograms", "cupcakes for a cure" and "cookies to crumble cancer" with a donation jar out at my husband's work - one theme per week.
6)asking the grocery store if I can sit outside and collect donations (not my favorite option)
7) offered those with WAH businesses a chance to promote my 3-day walk to their customer base while I will post their web page on my 3-day blog plus on the fundraising board for everyone involved with the 3-day across the U.S. and I will send it out to my address book if they donate a portion of their sales to my efforts.
8) contacting a local restaurant to see if they will let me sit in their lobby during lunch or dinner to collect donations - even have a contest with the staff to get tables to make donations and then have a local store donate a prize for either the most donations collected or the highest amount of money collect. Or collect several prizes and then hold a raffel charging $1/ticket or $5 for six .

ANY IDEAS WELCOME!!

TIA

Here are a few ideas that work well in our small town:

Have you seen the CANCER TOILETS?? to FLUSH cancer? Anyway, you can make a donation of say $25.00 and a BRIGHT PINK or PURPLE painted TOILET all decorated with Silk Flowers and Spinwheels will be delivered to your neighbor or family member's FRONT YARD with a Sign that reads: HELP FLUSH CANCER!

The person must then make their own $25 donation to have the toilet moved to someone else's yard. Thus, them moving toilet can make at least the $25 per day or more if you have more than 1 rotating simultaneously.

I know it sounds crazy00 but it is really fun to send one to a good friend and have her come home from work to see this thing sitting in her yard!

Also, can you make bows? One lady sells large purple ones for - I think - about $6 or 7.00 and people buy them like crazy for their mailboxes to support the Relay for Life Walk.

What about a Cow Patty Bingo? Our high school draws off the stadium field into blocks with chalk and sells raffle tickets for $10 each about 2 weeks prior to the Bingo Day. On that day, a COW - usually given some kind of laxative- is released from his trailer and which ever square gets pooped on wins $500 cash. 2 others get $100 or $50.

On the poop day, you can have a carnival theme- easy games- and refreshments to make even more money while waiting on the cow to do his thing . . .

Well, I'll close this crazy post for now-- and no - I do not drink!

scmommy - those are hysterical! I love it!! How big is your town? Ours is about 100,000 - but the toilet one just might work. I'm still laughing at the cow patties.

Keep the ideas coming - any more? I have about $900 left in my fundraising to be able to walk, but I would love to raise $3500+.
