This is exactly what I'm doing as well. I've just started my blog. I've been doing research for the past couple of weeks on how to monetize my blog and how to drive traffic. Mostly, it's about content and being able to provide some kind of service. I've written one article and I'm planning on writing an article a week, plus the blog posts that I'm putting up. I love to cook and do crafts with my kids, not to mention all the sewing, crochet and other things that I love to do, so I have a wealth of material to write about. The problem is the TIME. Nursing one babe, with a 2 year old and two teenagers, plus cooking and cleaning I hardly have any time to breath, much less write in a blog.
I've been taking a lot of pictures, and video as well of projects I've been working on in the past week. Including the meals I've prepared, recycling crayons, pulling down old wallpaper and making cheese! Whew....but I've no time right now to blog it all. I'm also putting up some extra Ebay auctions to make a bit of extra cash so we can go to the Ren Faire in a week or two.
I've actually thought about getting a few local mom's together to create a partnership blog. I've been thinking about this just today actually. We could all write and post, and then the blog would have A LOT of content. Then we could all work to bring traffic, and perhaps we could each do enough that we wouldn't have to pay for advertising (if we all wrote & submitted articles, say). Of course, sharing it would mean less money for myself...but maybe I can't make any if I did it alone and failed...right?
