Do you have a business or residential phone line? Right now, we only have a cell phone, but for my home day care that I am opening I am required to have a hard line. Knowing that it won't be used often, I'm looking for the cheapest route!

Definately obtain and pay for a residential phone line. I have a friend who obtained a business phone line because - well, I can't remember why they went that route - but now that the business is closed they have all sorts of problems trying to cancel the phone. They have to keep paying a monthly bill until the next phone book is released, for instance.

Keep in mind, which either way you go, the phone bill is tax deductible.

Residential. There's no need to pay extra for a business line that you'll rarely use.

Yah I agree you don't need more than a residental line. Pay for the cheapest one they have if you can. Both dh and I have cell phones, but we also have a land line. I never got more than a flat line on it. It costs me $20 a month. We have NO extras on it, we don't need it, we both have cells.
