Has anyone ever thought about starting a business in your area?

What do you need? A truck. Diapers. Commercial washer and dryer.

Any thoughts? Any experiences?

I'm not sure what you would need, but I suppose there might be a need for something like this to start again. (Remember the old days when women paid for this service, before disposables? LOL)

I'm sure there are other costs, for instance, gas for the truck, insurance on the truck. Then there is also the cost of running a commerical washer and dryer. And most likely you would have those insured as well in case something happened to them.

You would NOT be able to do something like this yourself, I would have to pay an employee I'm sure. And don't forget detergent and bleache! LOTS of bleache. LOL

You would really have to just sit down and figure every cost, every penny and decide if its REALLY worth it.

I would also imagine because you are working with biohazard, there would be EPA regulations, standards and permits/inspections needed.

My mom cloth diapered all 5 of us kids, and used a diaper service. I remember the guy coming to pick up the dirty ones and drop off all the clean ones. She offered to pay for a cloth diaper service for me for after DS was born, but we decided to go with disposables, and the service was expensive, as it wasn't close.

I use a service, but we have to take them to be picked up at my mom's house because we live in such a small town. I always thought that it would be the stinkiest job, especially on hot days
