Hmmm....I'm a piano teacher, and traditionally, word-of-mouth has been the best advertising for this service. So, a website is probably not a must, but a pretty darn good idea.

I've stepped up my internet advertising the past year, and most my new students have resulted from doing so. Parents are looking in search engines and piano teacher directories these days.

My colleagues are refusing to jump on this bandwagon, and several do not even have access to the internet, or email. They're sure missing the boat on this one.

Depends on what you are selling. But what would it hurt. There are tons of great free websites out there and the one I chose was easy.

I haven't sold anything from the site yet, but I have been contacted by so many people that would never have even known I exist. So now because of my site, I have been asked to wholesale some gourds to a gift shop in North Carolina and an art gallery in Bardstown has contacted me about putting some of my work there and another town that holds a special event in September, has asked me to come set up there. So any traffic is good.

I think that a website is a must for pretty much any business nowadays. The internet is where everyone goes first. And more than once I have heard of a business and went to go look it up online only to find that they didn't have a website, so I lost interest.

YES! that is were everything is compiled. I also find that people are a lot less threatened by a website rather than talking to someone on the phone.

I think so. I typically go to a business's website to find out more info and am very disappointed if they don't have one. I know quite a few gals who use freewebs.com/.

No, a website is not a must thing to have. If you do jobs at freelance sites, then you do not need any site right?

On the other hand, if you want to earn via adsense or any other advertisements, then yeah, you need to have a site.
