The best way obviously is Word of Mouth.

How did you get advertising for your WAH Business?

I am not sure if this is actually what you would consider advertising, but I typed a search in google for craft directories and visited those sites and clicked on submit link. Then you wait for approval (which sometimes doesn't come).

But anyway this has quadrupled my visits and with Microsoft Office Live I can look at reports to see where the traffic is coming from.

Plus I was so excited today. I have worked really really hard getting my site out there with no luck in getting a Google page rank. Well I had just about given up and check today and I have a page rank of 2!!!

I actually show up on Page 14 of a gourd google search. Before I got a page rank I never could find my site. Once I got up to around page 50 and still never saw my site.

By the way: the most traffic I have gotten has come from Craft Site Directory. It took them a month to approve me, but I get more hits from this site than even my hits from direct link. I highly reccomend it.

I sent a press release announcing my new business to the newspaper once, and they actually did an article about it.

Thus far, most of the hits to my website have come from people who pick up my business card at a craft fair and then type in my website address. I am always surprised at how much business I actually generate just from the business cards.

I am also in the process of trying to get my website moved up in the google and yahoo search engines. It's a lot of coding that is all new to me!

Thanks for the craft fair directory idea! I actually just submitted my website to one of the directories. I think I will try a couple more, as well. I'll let you know if or when I hear back from them!
