Hi, I am considering working from home and would like your input on working for companies such as alpine access, liveops or elance. I thought there was a thread talking about this type of work. Any help would be appreciated. I read about the survey sights, but I am in need of a little more income. Also, does anyone do medical transcription from home? Did you take a course online or at the college? I need to make some changes. My dh has been out of steady work over a year. Basically we have exhausted almost all of our savings and starting on our small retirement. Thanks.

I have heard alot of good things about LiveOps, but a better place to start out doing that kind of work is Workathomeagent.

Basically, the job is answering the phones for shop at home companies and that type of thing. Its a very rigourous screening process, I did not pass. LOL Once you are hired, you sign up for hours that are good for you, for instance, 9-10pm after the kids go to bed. BUT you must answer every single phone call, it cannot go to voicemail or the machine, you will lose your job. You must also own a computer and have dsl or cable internet.

I have heard of people making good money doing this sort of work, you get paid I believe up to $8 an hour, and most people work 20-30 hours per week.
