I'm searching for some ideas on great homemade gifts for grandparents this year. What have been the best gifts you've given?

One of my favorites that you may have heard me mention already is the homemade family recipe album. I took all the contents of my recipe file and photocopied it. A lot of the recipes were handwritten by my grandmother and mother. Some were magazine clippings, others were printed off the internet. I assembled them all in a 3-ring binder with plastic sheet protectors to save the pages from spills. My daughter made a cover out of photos she found in magazines. The entire project cost less than $10 and it was easy to make multiple copies at the same time for my brother and his wife, my in-laws, etc.

We made a "Grandma's Helping HANDS" apron for Grandma one year. My kids put their hand prints all over it and signed their name.

Another time we made a video of our home and our life here in Oklahoma. My grandparents NEVER travel so we made a video of our home (inside and out) and had the kids do a commentary. THEY LOVED IT!

Those stepping stone kits that you can get at craft places are really cute and easy to do. Homemade ornaments that they can hang on their tree.
Taking a picture of the granparents with or without the grandkids put a matting around it and list wonderful things about them (the granparents) around the picture and then frame it.

We give a picture of Magge to her grandparents and great-grandma for every gift-giving occasion. Especially great-grandma doesn't want more "stuff" but there is always room on her fridge for a new picture!

We did the handprints on clay flower pots one year too. They loved it!

Speaking of flowerpots, Bonna, the boys and I also made decorative terra cotta pots to give to some residents at an assisted living complex (retirement home). Our MOMS Club visits there at least once or twice a month. The residents loved it and the boys were so proud. I have a pic...I'll go and look it up!
